I think it’s good idea to use social networks nowadays in fighting with new drugs. Only analyzing the most recent trend among youth could lead to immediate reaction from law enforcements.
No doubt, that flakka has already become one of the most widespread drugs in the whole world, not just the USA. National Drug Early Warning System (NDEWS) reported on emerging trends and patterns of flakka use in lots of areas specifying that the problem arises and becomes national. Maybe if the research that includes social networks information would be done earlier, the problem won’t be so urgent nowadays. For example, in the article it’s possible to read about the problematization of drugs as recent trends in the recreational use of pharmaceuticals among young adults. Such kind of studies combines different approaches and, without doubts, will be helpful in combating a growing number of cases when people on flakka behave bizarre and uncontrollable like it could be seen on CBS News.
